Can I connect Health Connect to Limeade

Why do I need Health Connect?

Health Connect is a partial replacement for Google Fit.

Google Fit previously served two functions:

• Creating health data from sensors on your phone or watch
• Storing health data in the cloud from apps such as Google Fit or Samsung Health and controlling which other apps could access it

Going forward, Google Fit will only create health data. Health Connect will store health data on your device and control which apps can access it. A key reason for this change is that storing health data directly on your device improves privacy and gives you better control over who can see or share your data.

How do I sync Health Connect to Limeade?

Prerequisite: Install the Health Connect app from Google Play if it’s not already on your phone.

1. Open the Limeade app.
2. Tap the Profile icon, then tap the gear icon ⚙️ (top-right) to open Settings.
3. Select Edit Device Settings to view the list of health apps available for connection.
4. Tap the + icon next to Health Connect to start the connection process.
5. On the Get started with Health Connect screen, tap Get started.
6. Review the information and tap Get started again.
7. On the permissions screen, tap Allow all (or choose specific data types), then tap Allow to confirm.
8. On the Turn On Background Sync screen, tap Turn On, then tap Allow to confirm.
9. When you see the Connected screen, tap OK. Setup is complete.

How do I sync health & fitness apps (like Google Fit or Samsung Health) to Health Connect?

-Connect Samsung Health to Health Connect

Prerequisite: Install the Health Connect app from Google Play if it’s not already on your phone.

1. Open the Samsung Health app.
2. Tap the menu (three dots) in the top-right corner and select Settings.
3. Scroll to Health Connect under “Connected apps and services”.
4. If prompted with “Turn on Health Connect access in Settings”, tap OK.
5. Tap App permissions, then select Samsung Health.
6. On the Health Connect permissions screen, tap Allow all (or toggle specific data types).
7. If required, scroll down and tap Allow to confirm. Setup is complete.

-Connect Google Fit to Health Connect

Prerequisite: Install the Health Connect app from Google Play if it’s not already on your phone.

1. Open the Google Fit app.
2. Tap your profile picture (bottom-right).
3. Tap the gear icon (top-right).
4. Scroll to the Health Connect section and toggle Sync Fit with Health Connect to On.
5. If prompted, tap Set Up.
6. On the Health Connect permissions screen, tap Allow all (or toggle specific data types).
7. Tap Done to confirm. Setup is complete.

How do I know Limeade is successfully tracking my health data?

1. Open the Limeade app
2. Go to the Home or Dashboard screen
3. Look for health data in the activity details, such as steps, activity minutes, and sleep. You should see up-to-date data for the items you’ve granted permission to share.

How do I fix Health Connect sync problems?

-Verify your connection and permissions for Limeade

1. Open the Limeade app.
2. Tap the Profile icon, then tap the gear icon ⚙️ (top-right) to open Settings.
3. Select Edit Device Settings to view the list of health apps available for connection.
4. Verify whether the icon next to the Health Connect item is a plus (+) or an ‘X’, and confirm that the Health Connect icon is an 'X'.
5. Additionally, open the Health Connect app to verify the app permissions, and check whether the correct permissions are enabled for the LimeadeONE app.

-Verify your connection and permissions for the data source app

1. Open Android Settings.
2. Tap Security & privacy, then Privacy controls, then Health Connect.
3. Tap Get started if prompted.
4. Tap App permissions.
5. Confirm your health data source (such as Samsung Health or Google Fit) appears under Allowed access.
